Jamie says, "If you like more of a modern style, then perhaps no grids will achieve an open and clean look. Looking for something more traditional? Then we recommend using the Colonial style. This is the most popular and will go with most exterior facades. The last style to consider is the Craftsman or Prairie style, where the grids are closer to the frames, creating larger open glass space in the middle."
In new home construction, you'll see a trend towards using fewer bars to create a larger, more open divided lite pattern. Or, folks adding grids in the top half or top quarter of their windows only. But you don't have to build a brand new house to achieve a distinctive home design concept that is uniquely you!
Did you know? Grids can be placed either on the surface of the glass (for the traditional appearance of individual pieces of glass) or in between the glass panels of a double-paned window (for a seamless glass surface and easy cleaning)?
When replacing windows, you don't have to simply replicate your current look. There are many cool grid design variations to choose from, so you can really let your creativity shine and set your home apart!
